These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the website at https://yoober.yaa.bz and the Yoober desktop application. By using the site or the software, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use them.
The website
The website provides information about Yoober, download links, and related resources. Content is provided for general informational purposes and may change without notice.
The software
Yoober is free and open-source software licensed under the GNU GPL. Source code is available at https://github.com/designly1/yoober. Your rights to use, modify, and redistribute the software are governed by that license. These Terms do not limit rights granted to you under the GNU GPL.
Acceptable use
You are responsible for how you use Yoober. You agree to:
- Comply with applicable laws, including copyright and other intellectual property laws.
- Comply with the terms of service of any platform you download from (including YouTube and other sites supported by yt-dlp).
- Not use Yoober to infringe others’ rights or to circumvent technological protection measures where doing so is unlawful.
Yoober is a convenience wrapper around tools such as yt-dlp and ffmpeg. It does not grant you any rights to content you download.
No affiliation
Yoober is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google, YouTube, OpenAI, or any other third-party platform mentioned on the site or supported by the app.
Downloads and third-party services
Release binaries may be hosted on GitHub. Optional donations are processed by PayPal. Optional API transcription uses OpenAI. Those services have their own terms; your use of them is between you and the provider.
Disclaimer of warranty
THE WEBSITE AND SOFTWARE ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the site or software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Jay Simons AND CONTRIBUTORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR SOFTWARE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
Donations
Donations via PayPal are voluntary and do not purchase a product, subscription, or support obligation unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
